Animal Abuse

                                                                          Animal Abuse

Animal abuse is a big issue I think. Hunting is a major issue, because when you hunt, you are killing innocent creatures for no reason. I understand that you need animals to eat, but can't you just eat fruits and vegetables? Sometimes I think that people kill animals on purpose, because whenever I ask them why they kill innocent creatures, they always say "for fun", or "for food". I just don't understand why they need to do that. I know there are a lot of dog lovers out there, so I wanted to ask, "Would you kill your dog?", or "Would you kill a bunny", or any kind of pets.

I don't really know a lot of facts about animal abuse, but I do know that it's a major issue today. Have you ever seen a dog standing on the side of the road? If so, I bet you did nothing about it right? Why wouldn't you want to do that? Another thing that bothers me is that animals get tested on, just to make sure that what other animals get is healthy! I hate it so much. They don't deserve what they get. I can't even talk about this without tearing up, because animals are very important to me. I have cattle, and 14 cats. My cats are amazing, and I don't think my family would ever kill a cow, or anything for that matter, unless it was in danger. Or really skinny, and couldn't eat. Then I would understand. Other than that, I don't really see why people need to do this on innocent creatures. What do you think?

Can you believe it? Our next vacation is in 17 days! I can't wait to see what happens during Easter! What are you guys doing for Easter? I am going to go to my grandma's house and spend some time with my cousins and family. We always do our traditional Easter egg hunt, but we can only find a limited amount of eggs sadly! But overall it is super fun. I am so excited to finally get to see my grandparents again! It has been almost two months since the last time I saw them, but its okay, because it will be worth it in the end!

My favorite thing about Spring is Easter. Easter has to be about my favorite holiday, next to Christmas. I love going on long walks with my in the sunshine. It is so relaxing and lots of fun! I always get to talk to my mom in private, and get everything I am holding in off my chest. The family walks have to be my favorite walks of all, because we get to have family time without screens, or my parents having to work constantly (which doesn't happen very often). I love my family with all of my heart, but sometimes I wish they were there more.

Another thing I like about Spring is that I get to go swimming. My family goes to the lake sometimes with my Uncle, or other friends, and we go tubing and have lots of fun. We also have a pool, but its not very big, so my sisters and I are usually the only ones that go in it while mom is at work, and dad is doing chores around the house/farm. We also go to CL sometimes and swim there. That's really the only ways we get to swim during Spring.

In Conclusion, my Spring I am really hoping anyways, is going to be amazing, especially if I get to spend it with my family. That's pretty much what I do during the Spring. What do you do during Spring? I hope its as fun as mine.

Cookie Recipe

                                                        Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

One of my favorite things to do is cooking. My family has a special recipe, and that's the one I am going to be blogging about today. I have been baking now for about 5 years, and it's one of my hobbies. I love baking cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and really any other treats. I don't really make dinners a lot, but I still can. One of the dinners that I am really good at baking at is a Green Bean Casserole. I think the main reason I love making these foods is because of the people's reaction's to them, and they are so curious onto how a 13 year old girl can make food this good?!

But all I really wanted to tell you about today was my cookies. Here's the recipe!

That's what the recipe is, and you guys just have to make them! They are sooo good. I have brought them to quite a few events for school. I hope you guys can try it! What is you're favorite kind of thing to bake?

My Weekend

This weekend I went to Sioux Falls, my sister had a Basketball games in Hartford, and so we just went to Sioux Falls to kill time until 1:30, which is when she played. One thing that we did in Sioux Falls was we went to Scheels and got some SDSU clothes. One SDSU thing my dad got was a SDSU shirt and he also has a sweatshirt. We also had to get a water bottle for my sister.

When it was finally time to go to her game, we all got into our car, and drove up to Hartford. So we watched all the games, and the only team that ended up winning from Milbank was the girls Varsity team. The C team and the JV team played very well though, and the girls all ended up being okay except for one, but she recovered.

I sat there watching and cheering, waiting for the right shot! Finally the last shot went up and we won the game!! I was so excited that I clapped and cheered and screamed like crazy. Basketball is my favorite sport, and watching it just gives me the chills, especially when I am really into it. I loved the games, and the two teams seemed like the perfect teams to compete against each other!

Winter Vacation

During my winter vacation, my power went out right on Christmas day! I was a little scared, but right after the power went out, I found out that I was going to my aunt's for a couple days until my power came back on. But the problem with that was only us three younger girls got to go, my littlest sister is 7 and she is stuck to my mom like glue. So when she realized that our parents weren't coming along, she started crying, and me and my older sister tried comforting her.

So finally we got to my aunt's, and set up our stuff in her spare room, but there was only one 2 rooms for 6 people. So me and my little sister slept on an air mattress. While we were there, we went shopping, and spent time with our family. Overall we had a pretty good time at our aunt's.

When my parents eventually did come, it was just to say hi and then they had to leave again. I wish they could've stayed longer but they had to go home and refill the generator that they got from one of my mom's friends. Eventually we all had to go home and the power was still not on, but I was all up for the experience. Turns out our power was on for like two days, but we didn't know that because my dad had to plug in the generator in order to get it to work which took up most of the electricity.

So we turned the power back on and everything was all fine and dandy. But then my mom was telling us that we had a lot of work to do, especially with the laundry. So we went to work and the laundry took at least three days to finish, so it took us a while, but we got it done. That was my Christmas break!!

Here's a little picture that showed what my house was like in the power outage.

This weekend Friday I figured out that we didn't have school that day, because Lexi didn't come and jump on my back like she usually does at like 6:00. So I just laid in bed until like 8:30 so I could just think about life. I am excited for Thanksgiving, because my cousins are coming over for the weekend. We are going to go to Watertown and go black Friday shopping.

On Sunday I went to church in Milbank. The volleyball girls got back from state, and we had a potluck for them. The coaches were very happy that they didn't get last place, instead they got 7th place, which is second to last place. I am really happy that the stores are opening early, because I get to go shopping for Christmas for my friends.

At first I thought Orbiting Jupiter would be about this 20 year old kid who went to Jupiter, and tried looking for a wife. But it turns out that it was about this 13 year old boy named Joseph, who had  a baby. He was never allowed to see her, but he knew that he would find her someday. He ends up getting adopted from a family who has another boy named Jack who is in the 8th grade, just like him. They end up getting along very well. But after he tries drowning himself, Jack gets told that he isn't allowed to spend anymore time with him, unless it was at home. Joseph got kicked off the bus the first day, because he didn't like the bus driver, so he gave him a little sassy attitude, and told hi to back off. But after he didn't back off, Joseph turned around, and started walking. He walked all the way to school!

When I started reading Orbiting Jupiter, I realized that Joseph was very depressed, and when I found out that he was a father, and he was able to see his wife and baby, I freaked out! I wanted to keep on reading. When Maddie finally had her baby, Jupiter, Joseph wasn't allowed to see her, and Maddie died! I think he might've run away right then and there if I was able too, and if my father wasn't standing right there.

Now that I have an understanding of the book, I like how the author puts a lot of detail, and explains the story really well. For example when he gets bullied in  school, the author explains how he feels, and how he reacts to it. I don't like the principal, because he gives Joseph a really hard time. That is what I think about Orbiting Jupiter so far.
